Varumun Kappom
Preventive Care
There are numerous elements that affect health in rural areas. Compared to metropolitan areas, rural communities have a higher frequency of chronic diseases. Heart disease, cancer, chronic respiratory diseases, stroke, and diabetes are a few examples of chronic illnesses. In comparison to metropolitan areas, rural areas have greater mortality and disability rates.
Examples of social determinants that are barriers for rural communities in accessing healthcare include:
- Low health literacy levels and incomplete perceptions of health.
- Linguistic and educational disparities limited affordable, reliable, or public transportation options
- Higher poverty rates, which can make it difficult for participants to pay for services or programs
Cultural and social norms surrounding health behaviors.
Keeping the above points in mind, we KBTL Foundation initiated Varumun Kappom, focusing on the healthcare reach to the rural area’s of The Nilgiris mainly on tribal community who resides inside the forest area.
We respond with ability to change lives.
We have signed MOU with super speciality hospital’s to conduct frequent health Screening ans Healthcare awareness program for better understanding where health care is affordable to the non affordable tribal community.
